The terminal complies with all applicable occupational health and safety, security and environmental legal and administrative acts pursuant to the requirements of standards ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 31000, 27001 and ISGOTT (International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals) and the OCIMF ISPS Code.

HSSE involves issues related to occupational health and safety, security and environment.

The objective of the company’s HSSE policy is to offer safe and efficient oil product storage services that meet the client’s needs and updated industrial standards.

Olerex Terminal undertakes to use its facilities in a safe and secure manner. We aim to avoid accidents, injuries and occupational disease as well as to protect the environment by doing so with the clear and diligent support of all of our employees and the management team.

Olerex Terminal AS believes that client satisfaction takes priority when it comes to ensuring business success. We undertake to store clients’ goods safely and efficiently without product loss and/or changes in product quality.

 

Occupational health and safety, security and environmental policy

Olerex Terminal undertakes to use its facilities in a safe and secure manner. We aim to avoid accidents, injuries and occupational disease as well as to protect the environment. To do this, the company’s strategy prescribes the following:

  • Promotion of handling of occupational health and safety, security and environmental issues on all levels of our society and managing these in the same manner as all other important areas.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and implementation of appropriate norms where relevant legislation is not available.
  • Implementation of a thorough management system on occupational health and safety, security and environmental issues with clear competence, responsibility and communication channels.
  • Provision of a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, partners and subcontractors by making sure work procedures are safe and proper PPE is available, preventing health issues and supporting the implementation of measures to enhance health and wellbeing.
  • Identification and analysis of potential hazards and implementation of measures to avoid, prevent, manage and control accompanying risks.
  • Being ready to respond to accidents quickly and take effective countermeasures to ensure that potential incidents have minimal effect on people’s health and the environment.
  • Designing, constructing and servicing equipment and facilities in a manner that prevents potential people-related and environmental risks.
  • Provision of training and job coaching to all employees and supporting such activities by developing internal norms, procedures and instructions.
  • Efficient use of energy and natural resources, avoiding pollution and raising employee awareness of the possibilities of reducing adverse environmental impacts.

Management of the organisation to support the implementation of this strategy in a clear and consistent manner.

  • We always take price sensitivity into consideration and advise our clients on how to optimise their logistics planning using potential austerity measures.
  • We encourage our clients to give feedback on the activities of the terminal and their expectations and needs.
  • We create, implement and review, if necessary, any quality requirements and norms with the aim of improving the quality of our work.
